Teaching Italian in Italy
Our teachers of Italian as foreign language have studied foreign languages at universities and foreign language schools abroad and all have been trained to teach Italian as a second/foreign language. All the teachers of our Italian language courses are university graduates and most of them speak at least one or two other foreign languages. As an Italian language school recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR) our teaching programs ahave been inspected and as member of A.S.I.L.S. and I.A.L.C. our teachers' professionalism has been largely checked. We organize our own, ongoing, in-house teacher training program inviting professional lecturers to be constantly up-to-date with the last teaching methodologies.
On top of that, our teachers of Italian as foreign language take advantage of the regularly scheduled teacher training seminars and workshops offered by the Association of Schools of Italian as a Second Language as well as by other professional National and International organisations. Progress of the students is continuously monitored and all teachers meet weekly to facilitate organization and ensure proper student placement. We consider our weekly teachers' meeting extremely important in order to put into practise our teaching methodology and teaching philosophy. During these weekly meeting teachers exchange their own experiences in class, monitor the progress of each student, and discuss the results of the different activities proposed in class. Here what students say about our teachers. FACULTY AT THE CENTRE FOR ITALIAN STUDIES IN TAORMINA, SICILY
