Italian design, materials and engineering are recognized for superior quality and excellence. Among its many highlights, the Region of Sicily boasts an influence in fashion (Dolce Gabbana), ceramics (Iudice), yachts (Aicon), recycling innovations (Orange Fiber), sustainability (Katuni). The majority of small businesses are family owned (68% of Sicilian businesses) and many have operated for multiple generations. Students are introduced to the unique structure of Italian businesses through visits to businesses to experience firsthand the distinctive nature of Made in Italy, Sicilian Style.
