Study Abroad in Italy, Sicily January Term Intersession Winter Programs

Two, three and four week January Winter Program options allow students enrolled in the Study Abroad in Italy, Sicily January Term Intersession Winter Break Program to complete 3 to 6 credits in Italian language and/or Italian literature, cinema, art history or history courses taught in either English or Italian. Italian Studies students as well as students seeking a short term study abroad experience can enroll in the January Term Programs in Sicily.

In Taormina, the New Year begins with celebrations of fireworks, music and holiday decorations. The holidays in Italy officially extend to January 6th La Befana Day, a national holiday celebrated with small gifts left for children on the night of the 5th by the Befana, Taormina churches feature musical concerts with classical and contemporary musicians performing with a variety of traditional and contemporary instruments. Students are quickly immersed in the Italian holiday spirit.

Courses

Two week January Winter Program (3 credits)

  • Session One: January 13 to January 26, 2019
  • Session Two: January 20 to February 2, 2019

Three week January Winter Program (3 or 6 credits)

  • Session One: January 13 to February 2, 2019
  • Session Two: January 20 to February 9, 2019

Four Week January Winter Program (6 credits)

  • Session One: January 13 to February 9, 2019
